My journey started as a tax consultant at Deloitte. This grounding in New Zealand tax law has been instrumental in allowing me to provide expert tax structuring advice is hundreds of clients.2005 My next step was working at an accounting firm with a broad range of clients. I learnt what works for clients and what doesn't.

Property Investing
I could see that property investing was a great way to grow wealth so I began investing in property, buying a property every couple of years. I still continue to own many of those properties I've purchased over the past 20 years.2007
Birth of Thorne Accounting
I launched Thorne Accounting from my Auckland home specialising in providing expert tax and accounting services to property investors. Clients loved my efficient service and reasonable set fees so the growth in clients meant moving into an office, hiring employees and working with around 1,000 clients. Working huge hours took a toll so I sold the business in 2021 to spend more time with my kids, the oldest being 12 at that time.2022
Thorne Consultancy
A number of key clients that I had a great relationship with stayed with me under my new company. I moved from Auckland to Cambridge with my wife and 3 kids to enjoy a better work life balance. Being in my 40's, I still love providing tax and accounting services to property investors and have plenty of energy and advice still to give.
